About DreamDance Foundation™

DreamDance Foundation™ is a state registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. DDF produces and commissions both contemporary modern dance and traditional Chinese dance projects. For educational purposes, DDF actively participates in many community and fundraising events, and also hosts high quality master classes and workshops that are accessible to the public at a reasonable rate.

Our companies: DreamDance Contemporary Arts produces contemporary modern dance and intercultural performance projects performed by professional dancers. DreamDance II produces fresh-looks of traditional dances to share the essence of Chinese culture with our community.

In the past two years, DreamDance has reached more than 30,000 audience members by performing in such distinguished venues and events as the LA Holiday Celebration at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Dance Under the Stars Choreography Festival at McCallum Theater, the Exhibition of Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of the First Emperor at the Bowers Museum, among others. DreamDance II 2009 program EAST WEST FUSION was commissioned by the Ford Amphitheatre, making us the first ever Chinese group to perform at this prestigious location. These performances help DreamDance present our Chinese-American identity and Chinese heritage, and share our Chinese cultural traditions and values with other communities in the United States.

In addition, DreamDance II offers an exclusive scholarship program for young Asian-American talents. The program includes 40 weeks (or the equivalent of 280 hours) of dance training and rehearsals per year. It is run by the top dance professionals in our community, and we are able to offer up to 8 full scholarships and 25 partial scholarships per year.

DreamDance needs $45,000 to sustain our programs each year. So far 90% of this amount comes from the kindness of individual donors. Your contributions to DreamDance are entirely tax deductible to the extent of the law, and we are eternally grateful for your continued generosity.
